Garmin Lost My Data!

Garmin Lost My Data!

I may be getting a new watch. I’m always intrigued and interested in new technology. I love it actually. I am a bit of a gadget freak. I’ve been having some issues with my watch lately. Sometimes it won’t send out my Strava beacon. Sometimes it won’t sync up with my phone until I restart it. Sometimes the app disconnects from my other services. Today it just lost my run. No idea how it happened. It sent out the Beacon, I can see the run by going to that link but I have no way of recovering the data. That is frustrating.

One of my biggest pet peaves is when things don’t work like they should. I go a bit coo coo. I’ve been seeing Suunto around alot and it might be time to start doing some research. Currently I have the Garmin 935. It’s been a great watch really. Most of the time it does what its supposed to do and I’ve gotten alot of miles with this thing. I got a great deal on it and its been worth every penny. However, I think I’m over it.

It was my first ever watch and I wasn’t really sure what to expect. At the time I wasn’t running very far and I wasn’t running on very many trails. The way I run has changed a bit. I’m not sure that will change the watch I get I’m just saying I have a more clear idea of how I will use it and the features that I want.

I also enjoy notifications and connections with my phone. The Garmin does ok but its an athletic watch first….which is good. That is the primary use. However, I think the interactions could be a bit smoother and more easy on the eyes. The Apple watch is getting better but I can’t see that being the answer. To me that is still a phone connected watch first. Plus charging it every night is painful. That is one of the things I love about this Garmin watch…..I charge it once a week and I’m good. It tracks all of my sleep, steps, stairs, calories, stress, rides and runs. I really like the watch…but I’m going to start looking.

PS Today’s run was an easy 8 miler. I stretched it to about 8.5 as usual to the lake and back. It was hot….99°F I believe. I don’t know exactly….my watch lost the data!!!
