Solid Effort

I didn’t know I was doing a workout today until I knew I was doing a workout. Haha, always fun. I thought it was an 8 mile easy run then when I opened up my watch I saw it was a 6x3 workout. Two 6x3 workouts in a week is no joke. They are tough. I decided to stick with the plan and hit the trail to the lake. The first half is uphill which makes those 3 minute max efforts tough. I went after it though.

It was a solid run. I felt good for the entire time. I even got a trophy on one of the segments on the way back…..I actually tried for one on the way out but missed it. I set a PR (personal record) but it still wasn’t fast enough. I like Strava for that. You can continue to challenge yourself and others on certain parts of a run.

I think my legs may be a bit mad at me tomorrow on my long run after tonight’s effort. We will see. So, it was a good Pizza Friday with the family and now as I write this we are winding down to get ready for bed. I’m tired. It’s been a long week of work and running. Tomorrow’s run should be a fun one. I plan to do the same route I did last week which is 18+ miles. Then in the afternoon we have some virtual beer pong planned for a couple buddies birthdays. Good quarantine times!
