Logging Miles
60 Miles in the last week. Yowsers!!!! Granted this is a bit skewed because my day off was shifted last week. But still…..60 miles in the past 7 days is 60 miles in the past 7 days. Right now that is crazy to me. 6 months ago that would have seemed impossible. I bet 6 months from now that won’t seem so bad. After all that is only a 100k. People do this kind of mileage in a day!
I’ve been listening to Candice Burt’s podcast lately and watching her upcoming journey on Instagram (@runcandicerun). She is about to run the Arizona trail and go for the FKT (Fastest Known Time). Her goal is to do the trail in 12 days. It’s like 800+ miles with some ungodly amount of elevation. If I remember correctly it is over 100k in gain over the entire trail. Anyway its nuts and her goal is to run 60 miles per day.
I guess I just find it interesting that everything is relative. You are where you are in your journey. Wether you run 5 miles a week or 60 miles a day it doesn’t matter. There is always more to strive for and nothing is impossible. It just takes hard work and commitment. Make goals, stay focused and achieve the seemingly impossible.
