Easy Sunset Miles

Back on the trails again today. I almost didn’t make it. Work ended up going longer than I expected with some last minute fire drills. Nothing like some Friday afternoon fireworks. Anyway, I made it out and am so happy I did.

I usually eat like a madman and lately has been no exception. Although I am running more miles than ever I actually think I am putting on some weight. I am working on getting back on track with my diet. Typically if I just eat in moderation I can eat whatever I want. So, this morning I started off the morning with one of my favorite fuel meals.

Greek yogurt, peanut butter, granola and honey. Usually I will put some fresh berries on top but unfortunately we are out right now. It was still good and starts the morning off right. Add in some coffee and I am good to go!

Today’s scheduled run was an easy 6 miler. My typical run for these days……when I can get on the trails…..is one of my all time favorite routes. It has a good amount of elevation, its beautiful and it has some semi technical sessions. Best of all it is only 10 minutes from my home.

I did try to take it super easy today because my legs were feeling the effects of yesterdays workout. I tried to zone out and enjoy the scenery. There were a ton of other runners and bikers out on the trails becuase it wasn’t too cold today. I also saw a decent amount of people riding horses. The coolest thing I saw was a lady riding her horse out on the beach. It looked like they were playing out there. They were galloping around like they owned the beach, it was awesome. You can see them off in the distance here.

Overall it was another great run on the lake. Usually tomorrow would be a long run but I have some family obligations so that is being postponed until Sunday. I will check in with something….not sure what yet since I won’t be running but I have some ideas. I will leave you with the run stats for today.
