Easy Friday
Nice day at work today. Felt like I got a lot of stuff done and worked a long day but it didn’t feel crazy stressful. Then I decided I was done around 4:30ish and was going for a run. It was 93°F out but that’s my new normal so I wasn’t too concerned about that. I simply bring some water and its not so bad.
The run felt pretty good. I took it easy and just cruised. I was going at a decent speed the whole time and didn’t feel like I struggled too much. Those are my favorite runs…..the ones that just come somewhat easy. You are putting in work and you feel it but it just flows. Interestingly enough I was listening to a TrailRunner Mag podcast in one ear that was about a lady who loved rivers. She talked about how they just go with the flow but are amazingly powerful. They can go fast or slow but carve through mountains. I love it!!!
Honestly, I think it gave me a new appreciation for rivers. I love water….always have. I’ve talked about it here before. The ocean is my happy place. Having the lake nearby when we moved up here was a must for me. What I didn’t think about was the rivers. I do love running along the river up here. Actually the north fork of the American river has been my favorite place so far to run. I always thought it was just part of the lake but it’s actually where the river comes into the lake. It’s pretty awesome. Here a screenshot of my race back in March where I ran down the river to the lake. It was such a beautiful run. I love this place.
