Twists and Turns
I have to admit, I kinda like it when life throws me curve balls. Having tough days allows me to take a step back and enjoy all the “normal” yet really good days even more. While my “bad” days suck….they are far better than a lot of peoples normal days. I constantly have to remind myself about this but it helps me keep things in perspective. When its all said and done I have it good.
Work was tough today as things are going 100 miles an hour again. At least that keeps things interesting. I’m still dealing with some stuff in my personal/business life that is challenging. Hopefully that passes soon. Then we get to deal with the COVID stuff that everyone is dealing with right now. Keeping little ones occupied during the day while trying to get work done is challenging at best. It’s all good though, I’m happy and we are healthy.
As I dealt with work the hours passed and I missed my opportunity to go out on the trails today. I thought about skipping my run completley tonight and doing it tomorrow but I have to do a bit of traveling tomorrow so running tomorrow is going to be a little tough. Plus I was just making excuses and I don’t like excuses. I got the run in and felt good. It was another fast one. Granted it was on the streets but it was in the 7’s which is a solid pace for me. It also had a decent amount of elevation gain for the streets.
It’s crazy that I barely crossed 1,000 miles last year. I remember that there was a point were I didn’t think I would get there. I think I ended up at 1,100 or something like that. Here we are in May and I am a couple miles short of 900 on the year. My goal going into the year was 1,500 to up my game from last year. I think I am officially going to change it to 2,020 tonight. That seems more than acheivable and fun. Ok, bye. Going to change the goal in Strava now.
