Going Topless
I have a photo….I won’t share it. To be honest, it was so amazing to be able to run without a shirt today. The weather was beautiful and surprisingly there was nobody out. I literally only saw a handful of people. I felt a bit naked out there but it felt amazing. I fell in love with running in the spring and summer last year. I was on the verge of devastation when I had to start running with clothes on again. I’m glad the heat is coming back.
Today’s run was my longer workout for the week. It consists of a 15 minute warm up followed by (6) 3-minute max effort runs with a 3-minute rest between max efforts. This is followed by a 15 minute cool down. I love the workouts. They are so challenging and they help me grow so it is a win win in my book.
My legs felt a bit heavy when I started today but I always push through and give workouts my max effort. Doing them on the trails adds an extra challenge with the twists, turns, ups and downs. I like that the first half of this route is mostly uphill which really challenges you during those 3 minute stretches. I felt I did well overall and was happy with the results. Most of my sprints were in the high 6 to low 7 range which is really good for me on trails.
Tomorrow is another easy effort 8 mile run. See you then.
