I Like My Side Better
I went exploring again today. I didn’t think I was going to go south again but I wanted to do what I originally set out to do…..explore the east side of the lake. When I got to the split I made the decision to go for it. It took about 9 miles to get to a solid trail on that side of the lake and my run was scheduled for 20 total. There were some little trails along the way but they were short stints between dams and launch ramps.
I was happy to to finally get there and get some miles on that side of the lake. I went a little further than I needed because I wanted to see as much as I could. Overall, I was nice but I kept thinking how pretty it was across the lake on my normal trails. The other side of the lake was pretty flat and the trails were really hard packed. I bet if I had gone further….away from the main part…..it would have gotten better. I think it would have also picked up in elevation also. I am sure I will be back at some point. However, it will probably be a drive so I can start there and put some solid miles on that trail.
Total miles today ended up being 21 something. Another 50+ mile week. I was thinking more today and I am most happy about my consistency over the past 6 months. I’ve been consistent with the days I run and the distance I run each day. I am a big believer that consistency is key for beind successful for most things in life. I am happy to have been healthy enough to be consistent with my runs.
