Rain Anybody?
I miss the rain. It’s crazy how low the lake is this year compared to last year. Below is a photo from May of 2020 from the same spot as the cover photo…..look at the difference!!!!!
There is barely any snow left on the mountains so I don’t think it is going to get much higher. Plus with the heat coming this week its only going to keep getting lower. It bums me out…..I love that lake. I am wondering if this is the “norm” and we had a good rain year in 2020? I need to do some research.
The ramp back up continues. I had another full week of training which is always nice. I’m back over the 40 mile mark and continuing up. My 50k race is 7 weeks out and I’m excited!
As I mentioned earlier, the heat is coming back. Tomorrow is forecasted to be 106°F…..that’s hot. I like the heat but I need to remember to be safe and hydrate. I try to get out early in the mornings when I can or wait until late at night to avoid the most extreme heats. You can’t hide from it though. Running in the heat is inevitable. As we get deeper into summer I will continue to enjoy the heat……it’s better than running in the super cold weather. Maybe we can get some super hot rainy weather? That would be sweet!
