Back to a Schedule
Just like that, I have a schedule again. My knee is feeling better but my cardio is struggling. Yesterday, I did my first double digit mileage run in a long time. Probably over a month. It felt pretty good overall but I am feeling it today. I think its a combo of the strength workouts plus getting back to running. I like a little pain though…..pain means growth.
Next week will be my first fully scheduled week. I love being on a schedule because it keeps me focused. I know not everybody works that way but I do. Having a coach and having the accountability to someone helps me. Thankfully the person I feel most accountable to is myself and if I let myself down I feel horrible. Having another person just adds to the weight of getting my runs done.
I’m going to continue to do the strength training while also doing the running. I beleive it will help me in the long run….no pun intended. I’m also really enjoying the kettlebell workouts still. They are challenging and I can already see some results. Adding on 100 pushups and 100 crunches per day is a little consistency bonus to add on top. It sucks to do those every morning but I haven’t missed a day this month. It is a struggle to get it done just about every morning but once I simply get started I get it done.
Ok, short and sweet this week. Nothing too special going on. Im just happy to be running again. Until next time…..run a trail, be happy.
