The Lake Is Open Again
I have to admit….I may have let a single tear down when I got to the lake this morning and the cones blocking then entrance had been removed. I’m not sure if they opened yesterday or today but either way, I knew immediately that my nice quiet and peaceful mornings on the lake were gone. Now they are filled with the sound of vehicles coming to the lake and the sound of boats and jet skis across the lake.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy that people are back outside doing what they like to do, however, I simply liked it when it was quiet. Surprisingly there wasn’t as many mountain bikers or runners out today…..I have no idea why. It doesn’t make sense. There were some, but I expected a ton more once I realized the lake entrances were open.
I’m still not over it yet but I did have a good run today. It was an easy effort 22 miler. I honestly didn’t have any lows on this one. It was kinda weird. Normally I hit a bit of a wall at mile 15. Today was smooth sailing. I didn’t have my normal nutrition so I had some peanut butter and jellies with some trail mix…that messed with my stomach a bit but nothing too crazy.
Regardless of all the people it was still pretty. Here are some photos to prove it. Oh yeah! I saw a coyote right when I got to the lake. He stood up on this log and posed for me.
