Taper Time
It’s taper time. Race day is coming in the next couple of weeks. Coach has my mileage going down to about 50% over the next couple of weeks. I still have some long runs and workouts but I can see the difference in the overall plan.
I do still feel like I am recovering from the week off. I feel like I may have lost some of my fitness with that time off. Regardless I am back at it now and following the process. One place I can certainly improve is what I eat. I eat so much food. Every time I go to sushi they comment. They ask me if I’m by myself. They ask if I am sure about my order. It’s comical at this point. Thankfully I found a good place near me now and the people are starting to know me and know what to expect with my orders. They get a kick out of it too.
Anyway, enough about lunch. Tonights run was a workout. I was scheduled to do this yesterday but my wife was out of town so I got to chill with the boys then and push the workout to today. It is going to bunch up the rest of my runs this week but it should be fun. Today I did a 15 minute warmup, 2x20 min tempo runs with 10 in between then a 15 minute cool down. I felt like I struggled through the whole run honestly.
I think I am a little sick which isn’t making things easier but its no biggie. Here is the run from tonight:
