Hindsight is 2020
First off, Happy New Year!
2020…..What a year it was. So many challenges, so many changes, so many lows and the occasional high. As we move on from 2020 I am looking back on the year and trying to reflect on my progress and all of the good things that happened. Here are some of my highs:
Settling in to our new home in a new city
I’ve come to love this place even more as time goes on. I can’t imagine being stuck where we were during a year like 2020. What a blessing to be where we are.
Starting this blog
I took some months off to think about things but want to get to writing again. I don’t expect it will be everyday. I am planning to have one meaningful post every week or so. That’s the plan for now.
Fitness accomplishments
I got into a really good rhythm and put in almost 2,500 miles this year. The highlight was my 40 mile “Idea” run with my buddy Mike. It was a physical and mental challenge like no other. I am so happy we got it done.
On to 2021 now. I started the year off with an easy 6 mile run today and I have plans to expand on the baseline I achieved last year. My goal is to start working on getting faster. I also have a couple races in mind if the state of the COVID-19 pandemic allow. If not I will continue to train and do creative runs that make me happy.
Lastly, I want to start engaging with people more. 2020 certainly made communicating with people tough…..at least in person. This year I am planning to engage with people more over the internet. It isn’t the same but at least its conversation. The biggest challenge is always time and I accept that challenge.
Here’s to a new year, cheers!
