Too Many Bikes
After a long night of virtual parties I was not in the best shape for my long run this morning. I forced myself out of bed early and hit the trails. The first few miles were not good. I felt horrible. After every mile went by I started to feel better though. By about mile 6 I was feeling pretty good and by the time I finished at mile 15 I felt way better than I did to start.
It was a great run. It was beautiful and I am so happy to get out today. However, I was bummed about the number of people out on the trails at the lake. I am not sure if it is just a spring thing or if it has to do with COVID-19….this is my first year on the lake during spring. I was surprised by how many people were out that early though. I can only imagine what the place looked like at noon.
Lots of bikers…..lots and lots of bikers. Groups of them. Multiple groups. Groups of two, three, four and more. There were so many bikers. It bummed me out a bit. The other part that bummed me out a bit is I am going to be one of them soon. I have a bike on the way. I’m super excited to get out on the trails on a bike. It is going to be a completely different experience, I am sure. I know I am going to love it also. However, I bet I will be doing many solo rides.
The rest of the day was spent doing yard work, fixing our drip system, testing sprinklers and finally smoking some bacon, burgers and jalapeños for dinner. It was delicious. Maybe the best burgers I have made yet. Now we just finished cleaning the house and I think I am off to bed. Early Saturday night for me. See ya!
